A police officer in Georgia was arrested on Jan. 28 and accused of selling marijuana both in uniform and on duty, authorities said.
Warwick police officer Leon Mitchell sold the drug to a group of undercover agents in both Worth County and Lee County, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The bureau first began looking into Mitchell after it was told the 32-year-old was dealing drugs while in uniform as a Warwick police officer, according to a report.

Mitchell was detained at the Warwick police headquarters, the bureau said in a news release.

Marijuana, scales, and plastic bags to distribute the drug were discovered in the vehicle Mitchell had been driving, authorities said.
Mitchell was charged with the sale of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
He was also charged with three counts of violation regarding his oath of office and using a communication device during the commission of a felony.

He was denied bail and is still incarcerated, the report noted.
