Harford County sheriff investigators are ending the year as it started ? investigating an Edgewood homicide.
Shortly after midnight today, deputies responded to a call for help in the 1800 block of Grempler Way in Edgewood. They found Tyree Eugene Brown suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, said Sgt. Christina Presberry.
After a quick search and short foot pursuit, deputies arrested22-year-old Lewis L. Cochran of Abingdon, who is being held without bond on first-degree murder and assault charges.
Deputies are looking for a 2001 silver Buick Regal with Maryland license plates that was reported missing from the Grempler Way address, leaving open the possibility that there is another suspect who took the car.
“The investigation is ongoing? and it could very well prove that there are other suspects out there,” she said.
Police have not yet determined why Brown was killed or why he was in the house. He did not live at the home, but was a friend of the family that does.
Authorities have not said whether Brown’s murder was gang- or drug-related, or connected to a shooting Sunday morning by members of the Crips gang in nearby Windsor Valley, Presberry said.
Brown?s murder marks Harford?s sixth homicide for 2007, which started with the Jan. I murder of Walter Antonio Overton on Meadowood Drive.
