WATCH: Alabama high school football team gets baptized together

Over 60 players from an Alabama high school football team were baptized in a Christian church in August.

The Mattie T. Blount High School players were baptized into the over-70-year-old Nazaree Full Gospel Church in Mobile. Nazaree has nearly 4,000 followers on its Facebook page and hosts a youth Sunday school every Sunday and Bible study on Wednesdays, according to its Facebook page.

“When it carries over to the athletes it carries over to the students so that works out good,” senior pastor Wesley Davis said.

“Our Worship Experience this past Sunday was phenomenal,” the church wrote on its page. “We are celebrating the 60+ football players of Blount High School that gave their lives to Christ yesterday. God is up to something BIG at 1695!”

“Nazaree Full Gospel Church is a ministry to assist your growth in faith,” its page reads. “We are a family of believers encouraging you to live by God’s design and minister His word to His people. Through faith, growth and purpose we welcome you to the Nazaree family.”

The church has remained involved with the high school, providing many catered lunches to students and staff. More football players are reportedly set to be baptized Sunday.
