Avenatti’s last tweet linked Trump to Weinstein and #MeToo movement

In his last tweet before being arrested for domestic violence, Michael Avenatti mocked President Trump for using the same attorney as Harvey Weinstein — the Hollywood mogul whose alleged sexual misdeeds triggered the #MeToo movement.

“Who would have guessed that Harvey Weinstein and Donald Trump would have the same lawyer. Here is Charles Harder last year threatening to sue the NYT over its ‘false’ Weinstein story,” Avenatti asked. “The story then won a Pulitzer.”

Avenatti, who represents Stormy Daniels — the porn star who claims she had an extramarital sexual encounter with Trump in 2006, has been considering whether to run as a Democratic presidential candidate in 2020.

In the past, Avenatti has accused Trump of being a “misogynist pig” and championed client Julie Swetnick, who claimed — without any evidence — that then-Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh had been present when she was gang raped in high school.
