Federal immigration program can help young workers

TULARE, Calif. (AP) — Much of the attention surrounding the new federal program that temporarily defers deportation and grants work permits to young illegal immigrants has been on students.

But researchers say the program that began last Wednesday could also benefit young adults in low-wage industries.
