President Trump tweeted a cartoon that Americans should have a way to remove a “moron” president from office, nearly three years ago to the day reports surfaced that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called him a “fucking moron.”
The image features America’s founders gathered in talks about impeaching a president, as well as the summary, “I keep thinking we should include something in the Constitution in case the people elect a f—–g moron.”
The tweet was sent during the tenure of former President Barack Obama, who Trump criticized often during his two terms in office.
The re-airing of the tweet comes after a report published Wednesday morning claimed Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called Trump a “moron” behind his back.
Tillerson was reported to have compared Trump to a stupid person following a July 20 meeting at the Pentagon with some of Trump’s national security team and Cabinet officials. He was also reported to have threatened to leave his post in July.
Later Wednesday, Tillerson denied ever thinking about quitting but dodged a question about whether he referred to Trump as a “moron.” Later, an MSNBC reporter clarified her source said Tillerson called Trump a “fucking moron.”
