Former CNN anchor Don Lemon said he may be considering a presidential run, arguing he would make a “good president.”
“People keep asking me if I’m running for president. And I don’t know; I might. I’m serious. I don’t know; I might because people keep asking me to do it, or if I’m going to do it,” Lemon said on the Can’t Be Censored podcast Thursday.

“I look around and I see the folks who are possibly in the running, and some of them are impressive. Many of them, most of them, are not,” Lemon added.
“I actually think I would be a really good president of the United States,” Lemon said.
“OK, like, you’re being serious?” Can’t Be Censored podcast host Travis Dhanraj said.
“No, I’m being totally serious,” Lemon said.
There have been no formal announcements made by candidates yet. Frontrunner potential candidates include Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Gov. Ron DeSantis (FL) for Republicans. For the Democrats, potential names include Gov. Gavin Newsom (CA) and Gov. Josh Shapiro (PA).
Lemon, a frequent Trump critic, said the potential candidates appear to lack political experience and argued that President Donald Trump could have done a better job in office had he listened to others.
“It seems in this day and age, you don’t have to have a ton of political experience. Our current president has none, had none, that’s very obvious.” Lemon said.
Lemon said if possible, he would like to run for president without having to “beg for money” from supporters.

Lemon said he talked to people who have been involved in politics before about potentially setting up a team, what it would take, and when he would need to announce it.
“As we get closer to 2027 or 2028, I’ll see. I’ll decide,” he said.
