The director of North Carolina’s Republican Party proposed on Thursday that Hillary Clinton may be wearing handcuffs on January 20, 2017 if she is elected president.
Dallas Woodhouse, executive director the party, said on MSNBC the former secretary of state may be donning the “inauguration jewelry” to Washington if she is indicted by the FBI for illegal actions during her time at the State Department.
Woodhouse explained the potential for low Democratic turnout on Election Day could be the result of a “depression problem” because Clinton “could have these on Inauguration Day.” He held up a pair of metal handcuffs for the camera. He cited the Clinton Foundation and State Department’s pay-to-play scandal, as well as Clinton’s private email server, as examples of why some voters do not trust her.
The Justice Department has been involved in observing North Carolina’s election process this year after the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People filed a lawsuit alleging local country election boards violated federal law by purging people from voter registration rolls.
