Inslee signs order to tackle carbon pollution

SHORELINE, Wash. (AP) — Gov. Jay Inslee on Tuesday signed an executive order aimed at reducing carbon pollution, including directing a task force to recommend how to cap greenhouse gas emissions in the state.

The governor, who had made tackling climate change a key issue, also directed state agencies to work with utilities to transition away from coal-powered electricity and to evaluate requiring the use of cleaner transportation fuels.
