For the third day in a row, Montgomery County school officials on Thursday called off classes, even though precipitation stopped more than a day earlier and the county’s roads all are considered suitable for driving.
Schools spokeswoman Kate Harrison said the sidewalks around the district’s schools are, in many cases, overly slick, and there continue to be large blocks of ice on school property. That’s why schools will remain closed today, she said.
