Hancock Medical extends agreement with Ochsner

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) — The Hancock Medical board of trustees signed a two-year management agreement for Ochsner Health System to manage Hancock Medical Center. The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1oVkVAM ) the board, working with the Hancock County Board of Supervisors, announced the deal Wednesday.

J. Larry Ladner, president of the Hancock Medical board of trustees, said the agreement is a landmark one for the Hancock County hospital.

Hancock Medical and Ochsner announced an interim management agreement in September. The pact was for 90 days, but Ochsner has been managing the hospital since.

For Ochsner Health System, Hancock Medical is the organization’s first management operation in Mississippi.
