The owner of a New York City art gallery said that he was brutally beaten by a horde of teenagers for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.
Jahangir “John” Turan, 42, told Fox5NY that the alleged attack occurred Tuesday evening. He said he had purchased the iconic red hat bearing President Trump’s campaign slogan at Trump Tower earlier that day.
Turan claimed he was walking down Canal Street wearing the hat when a group of about 15 “kids” shouted “F— Trump” and beat him. He said one of the kids took his head and “bashed it” against a scaffold. Turan said the alleged attack caused a cheek fracture and a swollen eye.
He reportedly held a Thursday news conference where he demanded that the New York Police Department investigate the claims and find those responsible.
“I love President Trump. I think he’s doing a great job,” Turan said. “It’s sad to get beat up for wearing this hat. This is America.”
