Mitch McConnell, denouncing allegations, pledges: ‘We’ll be voting this week’ on Kavanaugh nomination

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the Senate will vote this week on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh after the FBI completes a background check “in the next few days.”

He also accused Democrats of using tactics akin to McCarthyism in their attacks on Kavanaugh and said he didn’t blame Kavanaugh for his anger displayed at last week’s hearing airing uncorroborated complaints of sexual misconduct, including testimony from Christine Blasey Ford.
