MEXICO CITY (AP) — A Mexican court has ordered the federal government to pay compensation to an indigenous woman who spent four years in prison after being wrongly convicted of helping kidnap six federal police officers.

A federal court says in a Wednesday statement that the Attorney General’s Office must compensate Jacinta Francisco Marcial for the moral and financial damage done to her when federal prosecutors illegally arrested and charged her. It doesn’t specify the amount that should be paid.
