Lake Las Vegas hotel to become Hilton brand

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — A Lake Las Vegas hotel is shedding the name Ravella and adding the Hilton brand.

Kam Sang Co. official Benson Lee tells the Las Vegas Sun (http://bit.ly/16kmUGX ) the 349-room Ravella at Lake Las Vegas will have its new name by June.

Hilton Worldwide’s website is already listing the Mediterranean-style property as the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa.

Arcadia, Calif.-based Kam Sang bought the 13.8-acre hotel and adjacent Casino MonteLago last November for $46.9 million.

It’s about 20 miles southeast of the Las Vegas Strip.

Officials hope the new name boosts hotel occupancy. A day spa will keep the Ravella name.

The hotel opened in 2003 as a Ritz-Carlton, but closed the next year.

Dolce Hotels and Resorts took over in 2011 and reopened it as the Ravella.
