Hogg interrupted a markup of bills H.R. 2814, the Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act, and H.R. 1808, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2021, according to the House Judiciary Committee’s weekly schedule.
“Guess what? Those guns are coming from the United States of America!” he can be heard yelling in the hearing. “They aren’t coming from Mexico.”
He also attempted to explain to the committee that mass shooters have often expressed racist sentiments in their manifestos, offering multiple examples.
He did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
Hogg himself shared the footage on Twitter, writing, “The guns in Parkland, Buffalo, El Paso, didn’t come from Mexico. They came from the US, and the shooters were inspired by racist, anti-black, anti-immigrant manifestos that rhyme with GOP talking points.”

“We have a duty to interrupt white nationalists when they spew harmful rhetoric. We have to. They’re using the same talking points as mass shooter manifestos. Here’s my reflections and some context,” Hogg later added, sharing another video of himself.
