Eric Trump thinks his sister’s physical attractiveness makes her an excellent candidate to be Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick.
Asked about Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker’s suggestion that the eldest Trump pick Ivanka Trump as a running mate, Eric Trump agreed and cited his sister’s appearance as a chief reason why.
“She’s got the beautiful looks, she’s smart, she’s smart, smart, smart,” Eric Trump said. “Hey, she’s certainly got my vote.”
“Is she 35?” asked Steve Doocy, a Fox News personality who’s the subject of “severe and pervasive” sexual harassment claims by former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson.
“And she’ll just be 35, her birthday is right at the end of October,” Trump said. “So she just makes that by about seven, eight days.”
Ainsley Earhardt, a female co-host of Fox News’ “Fox and Friends,” then chimed in to note that Ivanka Trump “definitely has the business sense” before the show moved on to other topics.
Eric Trump’s comments about his sister’s physical appearance appear similar to things the presumptive Republican presidential nominee has said about Ivanka Trump that have appeared in attack ads by his political opponents. Trump’s claim that he would likely date his daughter if he were not related to her was used in ads against him in the GOP primary.
Donald Trump, the GOP’s presumptive presidential nominee, has said his list of running mates is down to 10 names. Whether anyone on the list is related to Trump is unclear. But Ivanka Trump will likely serve as a top surrogate as the general election turns toward the fall.
