Voters in Colorado will be making their voices heard on the topic of legalizing magic mushrooms this Election Day.
However, Fox News contributor Dr. Marc Siegel warns that the state may be “putting the cart before the horse” with the proposition.
Colorado Proposition 122, the Decriminalization and Regulated Access Program for Certain Psychedelic Plants and Fungi Initiative, would decriminalize recreational use, possession, growth, and transportation of natural medicines for those who are over 21 years old. It would also create a Regulated Natural Medicine Access Program through which “healing centers” will be able to become licensed to administer natural medicines. Under the proposition, magic mushrooms will be designated as a natural medicine.

Although, he explained, “there’s no FDA approvals for medical uses currently.”
