For the second year in a row Caps defenseman Mike Green has been named a Norris Trophy finalist. The award goes to the NHL’s top defenseman. Green lost out to Boston’s Zdeno Chara last year. This time he is joined by Chicago’s Duncan Keith and Los Angeles’ Drew Doughty. All three are 26 or younger and Doughty is the second-youngest nominee of all time. Green led all NHL defensemen in goals (19) for the third year in a row and points (56) for the second year in a row. His point total was the most by a Caps defensemen since 1992-93, when Kevin Hatcher had 79.
