MSNBC’s Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough said Attorney General William Barr was President Trump’s “hack” who needed to be disbarred.
“We know Barr will do anything for Donald Trump. He’s his Roy Cohn, he’s his hack,” the host said Tuesday morning on his show. “He’s already committed perjury before Congress, I’m surprised somebody hasn’t moved to disbar him. Cause he really should be disbarred.”
The comment comes as Barr blasted the FBI for its investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign following the release of a 476-page report by the Department of Justice inspector general. “The inspector general’s report now makes clear that the FBI launched an intrusive investigation of a U.S. presidential campaign on the thinnest of suspicions that, in my view, were insufficient to justify the steps taken,” the attorney general said Monday.
Scarborough, 56, also took aim at Barr on Monday, saying the report proved he was a “liar or a fool.” “The IG Report eviscerates Trump and Barr’s conspiracy theory that Steele played any role in the investigation’s opening,” the MSNBC host said on Twitter. “Lindsey Graham repeated the AG’s lie even though they knew better. The IG report proves Barr to be either a liar or a fool.”

Trump responded to the release of the inspector general report, saying it showed an attempt to “overthrow” the government. “It is incredible, far worse than I would’ve ever thought possible, and it’s an embarrassment to our country,” he said about the report which showed 17 “significant errors or omissions” in the application for an FBI warrant to spy on a Trump campaign aide.
