Stormy Daniels’ lawyer: Rudy Giuliani ‘clearly dazed and confused’

Michael Avenatti, the lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels, is going on the offensive against Rudy Giuliani, who on Friday walked back comments on President Trump’s involvement in a hush money payment made to Daniels.

“Mr. Giuliani is clearly dazed and confused. Never before has the truth been such an elusive concept. What will the story be tomorrow?” Avenatti tweeted Friday afternoon.

The tweet is the latest barb exchanged between the two legal figures — Giuliani, a former mayor of New York City, joined Trump’s legal team last month.

During an interview on the Fox Business Network on Thursday, Giuliani called Avenatti an “ambulance chaser” and said Avenatti and Daniels were chasing after Trump for monetary gain.

Daniels is in the middle of a legal fight to get out of a nondisclosure agreement so that she can speak openly about her alleged extramarital affair with Trump more than a decade ago. She is also suing Trump and Cohen for defamation.

Giuliani on Friday walked back comments he made during a Fox News interview Wednesday night, in which he said Trump repaid Cohen for the $130,000 hush money payment he made to Daniels, even though Trump previously asserted he knew nothing about the payment. He claimed that he was never speaking for the president, despite repeatedly claiming over the past 36 hours there was “no daylight” between the two men.

Avenatti tweeted earlier in the afternoon: “Mr. Giuliani and Mr. Trump are making it up as they go along. Never before has that old adage been more appropriate: “Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive” – W. Scott. How stupid do they think all of us are? #basta.”
