‘Trump 4EVA’: President trolls rivals after Senate acquittal vote

President Trump posted a video taunting his political rivals after the Senate voted to acquit him on two articles of impeachment.

The video, shared on Twitter Wednesday, shows the cover of Time magazine, featuring a “Trump 2024” campaign sign. As Edvard Grieg’s In the Hall of the Mountain King plays, the video shows an ever-increasing series of campaign signs.

The years on the signs increase by multiples of four, signifying future elections. The president first appears in the frame standing above a “Trump 2048” sign, which then increases by four as he looks on. The number keeps changing faster, later increasing to multiples of 100, then 1,000, and finally 10,000, before the numbers change to “4EVA,” slang for “forever,” as Trump stares into the camera and the video ends.

The video was posted just minutes after the Senate voted 52-48 to acquit the president on the abuse of power charge and 53-47 to acquit the president on the obstruction of Congress charge.
