ABC’s politically provocative reboot of “Roseanne” dominated every other sitcom telecast with its Tuesday premiere, according to a report.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the revival’s two-episode premiere was the highest-rated scripted show from the last few seasons.
The sitcom averaged 18.1 million viewers and stole the show in terms of ratings in both the category of adults 18–49 and total amount of viewers, according to the outlet.
“Roseanne” originally aired from 1988 to 1997. In the 2018 reboot, Roseanne Barr plays a Trump supporter who is in conflict with her family over her political views.
The 8 p.m. hour has previously belonged to hit ABC shows such as “The Middle” and “Fresh Off the Boat.”
