A little more than a year after Kim Kardashian snapped a selfie with Hillary Clinton and declared her support for the Democratic presidential nominee, she now says she’s “on the fence” about voting for Donald Trump in November.
The reality TV star told Wonderland Magazine that she recently spoke with her stepparent, Caitlyn Jenner, about the upcoming election and why Jenner, a lifelong Republican, has chosen to back Trump. Jenner had endorsed Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in the primary and called Clinton a “f—-ing liar” earlier this year.
“At first I thought, ‘Oh my God, I’m so [for] Hillary,’ but I had a long political call with Caitlyn last night about why she’s voting Trump. I’m on the fence,” Kardashian told the magazine, according to the Huffington Post.
Despite voting as a Democrat in previous elections, Kardashian previously described herself as a “liberal Republican” in an interview with GQ.
After appearing on “The Apprentice” in 2010, Trump said she was “always nice” when they worked together on the show and have subsequently crossed paths.
Last summer, Kardashian’s husband, rapper Kanye West, said he may launch a White House bid of his own in 2020. “I don’t want to put words in his mouth, but I’m pretty sure [he would run for] the Democrats. Maybe independent? I don’t know how serious he is about it. We’ll see,” she told Wonderland.
