BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Work is underway on a $1.7 million project to remove sand, gravel and silt from a creek in western New York to reduce the risk of flooding.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office said Friday that the dredging work in Cayuga Creek in Erie County is a proactive approach to flood control that will reduce the risk of floods to more than 125 nearby homes and businesses.
