LISLE, Ill. (AP) — Republican candidate for governor Bruce Rauner (ROW’-nur) says getting a question about legislative term limits on the November ballot is “a major step” in his effort to “shake up Springfield.”
Rauner is chairman of the Committee for Legislative Reform and Term Limits. The group collected signatures to put a question on the ballot asking if legislators should be limited to serving eight years. The proposal would also change the size of the Legislature and make it harder for lawmakers to override a governor’s veto.
