NFL player and YouTuber Cam Newton wants to get back in the game.
The free agent quarterback revealed on his YouTube channel he got the COVID-19 vaccine and hopes to get to return to playing football.
Newton, 32, said in his video that he has been getting offers from several teams but is waiting on the right opportunity, according to ESPN.

“Hell yeah, I still want to play football,” Newton said. “I still get that urge to go out and perform and do something that I’ve been doing since I was 7 years old.”
One of the teams to talk with Newton was the Seattle Seahawks, though discussions between the two were only “all right,” according to the quarterback.
Pete Carroll, coach of the Seahawks, said that in addition to Newton, the team is “talking to everybody that could help,” according to the outlet.
Newton was released by the New England Patriots before the start of the season after missing three practices.
The team let him go because of what it called a COVID-19 protocol “misunderstanding,” although coach Bill Belichick said Newton’s vaccination status did not factor into his release.

Despite getting vaccinated against COVID-19, Newton said in his video that getting the jab ought to be a “personal decision,” noting that some vaccinated people still can catch COVID-19.
Such infections are called “breakthrough cases.” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the vaccines may not be “100% effective at preventing illness,” but it stressed that the “risk of infection, hospitalization, and death are all much lower in vaccinated people compared to unvaccinated.”
Newton encouraged viewers to remain healthy regardless of vaccination status and not to judge others based on whether they are vaccinated against COVID-19.
