A Baltimore woman has been charged with misappropriating funds from a developmentally disabled woman in her care.
Attorney General Douglas Gansler said Marilyn St. Louis Walkes, 52, of the 3000 block of Thorndale Avenue, was charged in the District Court for Baltimore County last week with one count of misappropriation by a fiduciary.
St. Louis Walkes is charged with fraudulently appropriating money from May 2005 through June 2006 from a developmentally disabled woman who was in her care. The case is being prosecuted by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Maryland Attorney General?s Office.
A charge of misappropriation by a fiduciary is a misdemeanor, punishable by at least one year but no more than five years in jail. Trial is scheduled for June 26 in the District Court for Baltimore County in Towson.
