Joe Biden beating Trump by 11 points in hypothetical 2020 election matchup

Former Vice President Joe Biden is far ahead of President Trump in a hypothetical matchup in the 2020 presidential election, according to a Morning Consult/Politico poll released Wednesday.

The Nov. 9-11 survey found 46 percent of voters would pick the previous Democratic vice president compared to the 35 percent who would re-elect Trump. One-in-five voters were undecided.

However, a “generic” Democratic candidate polled even better than Biden, and received 48 percent of registered voters’ support while Trump pulled in 34 percent. In that case, 18 percent didn’t know who they would pick.

While Trump appealed to groups in the working class of America during his election, Biden garnered support from 42 percent of non-college-educated men and women compared to Trump’s 31 percent. Voters who make less than $50,000 per year also picked Biden over Trump, 45-34.

The online survey was conducted with 1,993 registered voters nationwide and had a 2 percentage point margin of error.
