Arlington-based Virginia Commerce Bank hopes to expand its branches in Virginia from 21 to 30 by 2008.
The local bank just opened its first Loudoun County branch in Ashburn and has three more scheduled in the next few months, said Steve Reeder, executive vice president of retail banking for Virginia Commerce.
A Fredericksburg branch is slated to open next month, while a Centerville branch is planned for August and a Leesburg branch for October, Reeder said.
The bank is eyeing a number of potential locations after that, including Falls Church, Sterling, Dulles and a second Fredericksburg location.
“Our growth has been contiguous; we’ll keep expanding westward and to the south without skipping over any communities,” Reeder said.
The company focuses on general community banking, though it also has a niche in commercial and residential construction lending.
