METAIRIE, La. (AP) — The Causeway Commission voted to award a $1.5 million contract to a Port Allen company to replace the aging control system that operates the drawbridge on the 24-mile Lake Pontchartrain Causeway.
Bridge General Manager Carlton Dufrechou (doo-fre-SHOW’) tells The Times-Picayune (http://bit.ly/Xfzdzd ) the project is the last of three to overhaul the 40-year-old drawbridge system.
