Campaign confirms Bloomberg will not stand on box during Democratic debate

.

Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaign said they would not attempt to make the former New York City mayor appear taller during his Democratic primary debate debut.

Campaign officials told NBC News on Wednesday that the candidate would “*NOT*” be on a box during the Wednesday debate. The confirmation follows President Trump blasting the mayor as “Mini Mike” and claiming he wanted a box to stand on in the debate.

On Tuesday, Trump accused Bloomberg of illegally funding his own campaign before adding the box barb. “Mini Mike, Major Party Nominations are not for sale! Good luck in the debate tomorrow night and remember, no standing on boxes!” the president said.
