Report: Christie raises $4.2 million in 3rd quarter

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie raised $4.2 million dollars during the three month period ending Sept. 30, according to his campaign.

Christie’s fundraising haul places him ahead of only Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul among the GOP presidential candidates who have shared their fundraising numbers with press. Ben Carson, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio all raised more than the governor. The Christie campaign figures shared with the Washington Examiner also show the governor has $1.4 million cash on hand and has spent $2.8 million.

The presidential campaigns must file their October quarterly reports with the FEC before Thursday ends.
