Washington Examiner senior writer Joe Concha predicted that Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) will lose her bid for the Senate next year.
Concha appeared on Fox News’s Fox and Friends First on Tuesday, the day after Crockett announced she is running against Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) next year. According to Concha, Crockett is more likely to “make the leap to television” than win the Senate seat.
“I don’t even think Crockett has any illusions of herself winning this race. I mean, this is a cartoon character,” Concha said. “She’s gonna run, she’s gonna lose, and then most likely make the leap to television, whether it be the next cohost of The View, a permanent panelist on Abby Phillips’s ridiculous CNN prime-time show, or maybe Jen Psaki’s cohost on MSNBC.”
“This is an unserious candidate who values attention to herself more than anything else, guys, and that’s what this run is all about: not to win, just for the attention she’s gonna get for the next year,” Concha said.

Hours before Crockett announced her candidacy, Senate candidate Collin Allred dropped out of the Democratic primary and opted to run for a seat in the House of Representatives instead. Allred previously served in the House but left to pursue a Senate bid against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). State Rep. James Talarico remains in the race as another Democratic candidate.
The Republican primary will be crowded ahead of the general election, as Cornyn is running for reelection against state Attorney General Ken Paxton and Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX).
