MoCo police probing vandalism, disorderly conduct as hate crime

<br/><small><a href=”http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&amp;source=embed&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;q=20300+Swallow+Point+Road,+Montgomery+Village,+MD&amp;aq=1&amp;sll=37.0625,-95.677068&amp;sspn=41.360684,60.205078&amp;vpsrc=6&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;hq=&amp;hnear=20300+Swallow+Point+Rd,+Montgomery+Village,+Maryland+20886&amp;t=m&amp;ll=39.189691,-77.199469&amp;spn=0.013305,0.01708&amp;z=14&amp;iwloc=A” style=”color:#0000FF;text-align:left”>View Larger Map</a></small></div> <p>Police are investigating vandalism and disorderly conduct in a Montgomery Village neighborhood as a hate crime.</p> <p>Montgomery County police said officers were called to the <a href=”http://maps.google.com/maps?q=20300+Swallow+Point+Road,+Montgomery+Village,+MD&amp;hl=en&amp;ll=39.188959,-77.199898&amp;spn=0.017962,0.039525&amp;sll=39.188962,-77.199913&amp;sspn=0.008981,0.019763&amp;vpsrc=6&amp;hnear=20300+Swallow+Point+Rd,+Montgomery+Village,+Maryland+20886&amp;t=m&amp;z=15″>20300 block of Swallow Point Road</a> at about 8:45 p.m. Monday when residents reported that a group of juveniles was repeatedly ringing their doorbell and running away, and tossing trash and orange construction cones around the property.</p> <p>The group had left by the time police arrived.</p> <p>The same residents called police shortly after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, saying the juveniles had been banging on their door again. When the residents opened the door, the group — four boys and one girl — yelled racial slurs and told the residents to “go back to India,” police said.</p> <p>Police said all five youths were black.</p> <p>Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call police at 240-773-6237.</p>
