UPDATE: Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy Lanier has ordered Heritage India restaurant closed.
Suitland resident Jhonte Coleman, 34, was killed and five other adult males injured during a fight in Dupont Circle early Sunday morning, D.C. police report.
The fight began inside the Heritage India restaurant and club then spilled out onto the street, according to the Associated Press.
Police found five of the men — three shot and two stabbed — on the 1300 block of Connecticut Avenue northwest at 2:34 a.m., according to police. All five victims were taken to local hospitals, where Coleman died from his injuries. A sixth victim was later discovered at an area hospital.
The incident is currently under investigation and no details about the fight were available, Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Officer A. Clay said. Other than Coleman, police have not released the victims’ names or identifying information.
No arrests have been made.
