A former NBA player has been sentenced to five years in prison for his role in a drug-trafficking ring that distributed cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana throughout the D.C. area. Donald Hodge, who played for the Dallas Mavericks from 1991 to 1996, let other traffickers use his home in the District as a “stash house” to store drugs from April 2010 to January 2011, according to court records. The drugs were then sold throughout the region, court records say.

Hodge was charged in federal court in Alexandria in February and pleaded guilty in April.
