Officer hurt in D.C. shootout A police officer exchanged fire with a suspect in Northwest D.C. on Tuesday afternoon. No one was hit by gunfire, but the officer suffered facial cuts from broken glass, said Officer Hugh Carew, a Metropolitan Police Department spokesman.
Police received a report of a man with a gun on the 4800 block of New Hampshire Avenue NW shortly before 4 p.m.
