SEE IT: Philadelphia man wrestles gun from attacker, fends off armed robbery


A pair of armed attackers fled a crime scene in Philadelphia after their victim fended them off Monday afternoon, according to police.

The unidentified male victim, 46, was fighting off the first offender, was who attempting to rob the victim, on a sidewalk when he managed to wrestle a firearm away from the assailant, the Philadelphia Police Department said in a press release. A second offender then fired at the victim and shot him two times, after which the victim returned fire and appeared to hit the shooter at least once, police said.

Police found the victim lying in the streets and suffering from gunshot wounds to his buttocks and left ankle. He was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and was listed in stable condition, police said.

The two suspects arrived at the scene in a dark-colored SUV and fled the scene in the same vehicle, police said. Video shared by police showed the incident.


Both suspects were identified as Hispanic men with black hair and thin builds, with the first suspect wearing a black hoodie over a white T-shirt and blue jeans and the second wearing a white tank top, maroon shorts with a black design on the sides, and black Crocs shoes.
