Man shined laser at police helicopter, authorities say

A 47-year-old Springfield resident has been arrested and charged with interfering with the operation of an aircraft and endangering life after he allegedly shined a laser light and a flashlight at a Fairfax County police helicopter. Around 5:15 a.m. Feb. 12, police were searching for a suspect in the Newington Forest Avenue-Winding Way area when a green laser light and a white light blinded their vision of the ground. After a weeks-long investigation, officers arrested Raymond Jeffrey Poli of 7806 Blue Jasmine Court.
