D.C. police spokesmen Quintin Peterson and Kenny Bryson have retired from the department after more than a combined 47 years. For two decades, the two officers have answered reporters’ questions, written releases or helped write speeches for chiefs of police. Peterson has also published two crime novels and had his work included in “D.C. Noir,” a collection of short stories edited by George Pelecanos.
