Assault weapon found, robber still at large

Prince George’s County police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a gunman wanted in a robbery attempt of a credit union in Bowie.

On July 20, about 5 p.m., police responded to an attempted armed robbery at the Educational System Federal Credit Union located in the 4800 block of Glenn Dale Road.

A masked man walked into the ESFCU, pulled out an assault weapon and announced a robbery, police said.

When the employee stated that she didn’t have any, the robber fled the bank toward the woods.</span></p> <p><span class=”BodyCopy”>The robber is described as a black male with a thin build. He was wearing a white shirt around his face, a black long-sleeve shirt and dark colored pants.</span></p> <p><span class=”BodyCopy”>Police set up a perimeter, and patrol officers and a K-9 unit began a canvass of the surrounding area.
