Cops nab suspect in Ellicott City panty raid

Howard police charged a Hanover man this week with breaking into several Ellicott City apartments and stealing women’s undergarments.

Brian Eui Hong, 23, is charged with burglarizing nine apartments since early September, police said.

Police received reports of break-ins between Sept. 2 and Oct. 15 at apartments in the Town and Country complex where each victim reported large quantities of women’s underwear were taken with jewelry, credit cards, clothing, electronics and cash.

Residents also reported seeing a man matching Hong’s description peeping through windows, police said.

Hong was linked to the burglaries and a car theft, after using a stolen credit card at an Exxon gas station on Montgomery Road in Ellicott City, police said.

He was arrested during a traffic stop at Route 1 in Elkridge, and some of the stolen property was found during a search of Hong’s house.

Hong faces 24 counts of burglary, 14 counts of theft and credit card crimes as well as destruction of property, peeping Tom and auto theft charges, police said.

He is being held at the Howard Detention Center on $198,000 bond, police said.
