New Jersey councilman charged for urinating on concertgoers

A Jersey City councilman was arrested Friday night after D.C. police said he urinated on a crowd of concertgoers from a balcony at a District nightclub, The New York Daily News reported.

Councilman Steven Lipski, 44, was caught urinating off a balcony at the 9:30 Club during a Grateful Dead tribute concert, sources told the Daily News.

“He was very drunk,” the source said, noting that it wasn’t the first time Lipski had caused a ruckus at the popular concert venue.

District police said he was charged with simple assault.

Lipski, who was first elected in 2001, joins the ranks of other Jersey City elected officials who have been caught drunk in public. In 2004, just days before he was elected mayor, photos showing Jerramiah Healy naked and passed out on his front stoop were widely circulated, the Daily News reports.
