DC police chief allows officers to work with ICE to arrest illegal immigrants

The chief of police in Washington will allow the Metropolitan Police Department to work with federal immigration authorities to arrest illegal immigrants, an unprecedented move that follows President Donald Trump’s crackdown on crime in the city.

MPD Chief Pamela Smith issued an executive order Thursday morning saying officers may cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection.
