Fairfax County police have identified the victim of a shooting this week in Mount Vernon as Morgan Detroy Monroe Jr., 47, of Landover. He was found shot in his car on Wednesday, May 16, around 11:30 p.m. by police responding to a noise complaint.
Upon arrival, officers fond Monroe in a black, 1996 four-door Honda Accord at the intersection of San Leandro Place and Mendocino Place. He was suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police are investigating this as a homicide.
