Mother accused of killing daughters arraigned
Renee Bowman, accused of killing two of three adopted daughters and stuffing their bodies in a freezer, will be transferred from Calvert County to Montgomery County to face murder charges, a judge ruled Thursday. Bowman, 44, has been held in Calvert since the discovery of the bodies in her home there last year. Authorities have determined the two girls, ages 9 and 11 at the time of the they were found, were killed in Rockville. Her attorney requested she be moved to Montgomery so he could more easily prepare for her murder trial. A judge agreed. Charging documents released Wednesday said one girl had broken bones in her hand and arms, the other had lacerations on her face.
Mother gives birth in porta potty, leaves baby behind
Police on Maryland’s Eastern Shore said a 44-year-old woman gave birth in a portable toilet, then dropped the infant in the holding tank and stepped outside to borrow a cigarette from a stranger. The stranger called Cambridge police and when officers arrived, they found the 44-year-old, Candy Vigneri, holding the baby, which was covered in blue chemical liquid that was also found in the toilet. The baby is expected to recover. Vigneri has been charged with child abuse and reckless endangerment.
Silver Spring man shot to death in Langley Park
A 29-year-old Silver Spring man was shot and killed on the 8200 block of New Hampshire Avenue on Wednesday night, Prince George’s police said. Christopher Damean Wright was found around 9:45 p.m. and police said they believe the shooting was the result of a personal dispute.

Woman knocked to ground, robbed in PW
Prince William County police said a 59-year-old woman was leaning over to pick something up when a man knocked her to the ground and grabbed her purse. The woman was on the 2800 block of Dale Boulevard in Woodbridge and had just visited the bank, police said. There was a large sum of cash in the purse.
