Avenatti, who is serving a sentence of 2 1/2 years for his 2020 conviction for extortion and transmission of interstate communications with intent to extort and wire fraud, could have 30 months of his four-year sentencing served concurrently with his current sentence, Furman said.
The former lawyer was convicted in February of defrauding Daniels. He pleaded not guilty at his trial and was permitted to represent himself in court.

Avenatti was found guilty in 2020 of attempting to extort Nike for up to $25 million and was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison. Avenatti represented himself for six weeks in an embezzlement case, which resulted in a mistrial last year after clients alleged he cheated them out of millions of dollars. Avenatti is awaiting a retrial.
He was arrested and jailed in January 2020 and has been in home confinement in California since April of that year.
