FKA twigs files lawsuit alleging Shia LaBeouf abused her

Actor Shia LaBeouf is being sued by his former girlfriend, musician FKA twigs, who claims the Transformers star gave her a sexually transmitted disease and physically abused her during their relationship.

LaBeouf, a vocal anti-Trump critic who rose to prominence following a series of Disney and blockbuster Hollywood movies in the 2000s, is accused of slamming FKA twigs against a car and strangling her, according to the lawsuit filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday.

In another episode, FKA twigs, 32, accused LaBeouf of waving a gun in their car and admitting he killed stray dogs to get in the mindset of a killer. In addition, FKA twigs claimed LaBeouf knowingly passed an STD in 2019 to her and other women.

LaBeouf, 34, has battled alcohol abuse and a series of high-profile arrests. LaBeouf told the New York Times on Friday that he "owed these women the opportunity to air their statements and accept accountability for those things I have done."

"It has always been easy for me to accept responsibility when my behavior reflects poorly on myself, but it's much harder to accept the knowledge that I may have caused great pain to others," LaBeouf added. "I am not cured of my PTSD and alcoholism, but I am committed to doing what I need to do to recover, and I will forever be sorry to the people that I may have harmed along the way."

FKA twigs, who was born Tahliah Debrett Barnett, is suing for unspecific damages and said she would donate a large portion to charities that support victims of domestic violence.
