House GOP bills have a shot this Congress, but Senate may not have the time

Republican messaging bills such as the Laken Riley Act that were dead on arrival in the last Congress have sprung to life with a GOP-led Senate and President-elect Donald Trump headed to the Oval Office.

But the immigration bill may be one of the few success stories on the horizon as the Senate gears up for a jam-packed schedule and confirming Trump’s Cabinet nominees that will take top priority.
